Recently, the Information Resources Development Department of the State Information Center jointly with the State Grid of China issued the “White Paper of the 2012 Refrigerated Annual Air Conditioning Market in China†(hereinafter referred to as “White Paperâ€).
According to data from the White Paper, sales of the domestic air-conditioning market grew by 31.45% year-on-year in the cold year, and sales increased by 24.13% year-on-year. In the cold year of 2011, domestic air-conditioner sales increased by 20.45% year-on-year, and sales increased by 28.64% year-on-year. In the cold year of 2012, domestic air-conditioning market sales fell by 25.12% year-on-year, and sales decreased by 19.36% year-on-year, a year-on-year surge in the year-on-year trend.
Cai Ying, Assistant Director of the Information Resource Development Department of the National Information Center, believes that the reason for the rapid decline in the sales volume of the domestic air-conditioning market in the cold year of 2012 is mainly due to the suppression of the release of spending power under the overall economic environment, weakening of policy support, and irritating early stage. The policy has overdrawn consumer demand; real estate control policies continue to curb demand release.
