What is an electronic load meter?

Based on the ATmega16 controller with enhanced AVRRISC structure, a DC electronic load meter was designed and fabricated. The system compares the sawtooth wave and current sampling signal generated by the ramp generator with the error signal of the control signal to generate a PWM wave control MOSFET tube of about 20 kHz, and then adjusts the PI of the error amplifier to form a closed loop negative feedback control loop to achieve constant flow. The constant resistance and constant voltage modes are implemented by software to adjust the current flowing through the MOS transistor circuit in real time. The measured data shows that the accuracy of the system in constant current mode is within 1%, and the accuracy in constant resistance and constant power mode is within 3%.

How to properly use and maintain the electronic load meter: Operating procedures

1. Power on: Press the power switch on the panel switch below to warm up for 10 minutes.

2. Constant current operation: I-SET button, input a current value through the number keys or knob, press ENTER key to confirm.

3. Constant power operation: P-SET, input a power value by numeric key or knob, press ENTER key to confirm.

4. Constant resistance operation: Press R-SET, input a resistance value through the number keys or knob, and press ENTER to confirm.

5. Constant voltage operation: Press V-SET, input a voltage value through the number keys or knob, and press ENTER to confirm.

7. Press the ON/OFF button to change the input state of the load. Press once and the panel displays ON, indicating that the load is in the input state.

B. The VFD shows the MAX VOLT. =120V, set the maximum voltage required, press enter to confirm.

C. VFD shows TEST COUNT=2, set the number of test steps required, up to 20 steps, press enter to confirm.

D. Set the mode of the current program, press â–², â–¼ to select the constant voltage. Constant current. Constant power. Constant resistance mode, press enter to confirm.

E. The VFD displays SET1=20A, sets the current value of the current program, and presses enter to confirm.

F. To set whether the current program is shorted, press â–²,â–¼ to select SHORT ON. SHORT OFF mode, press enter to confirm.

G. Set the value that the current program needs to test. Press â–², â–¼ to select the read current, read voltage, read power mode, and press enter to confirm.

H. The VFD displays MINI=120V, set the down line of the test value, and press enter to confirm.

I. The VFD displays MAXI=120V, set the test value to go online, and press enter to confirm.

J. VFD shows DELAY1=1.0S, test delay time, press enter to confirm.

K. Repeat 5 steps to set other conditions

M. VFD displays STORE TEST FILE, save the edited file to EEPROM, press 1 to save to the first group area, and then press ENTER to confirm (up to 8 sets of test files can be saved)

Take out the file:

A. Press shift+menu, VFD displays CONFIG, press â–¼ to LIST SET item.

B. Press enter to enter the next menu, VFD displays MODE SET, press â–¼ to CALL TEST FILE

C. Press enter to call back the original test file.

Start automatic testing

A. Press shift+I-Set to enter the automatic test function. The VFD displays the file name of the current test file.

B. Press enter to observe the current actual load voltage, current value and current test steps

C. Press shift+trigger to test automatically

D. After the automatic test is completed, the beep will prompt, the VFD will display the test result, and the pass will display PASS. Otherwise, the FAULT, â–², â–¼ keys can observe the test value and test result of each step.

E. Press ESC to exit the automatic test function.

Precautions

Check if the voltage setting of the load matches the supply voltage and if the fuse is bad.

Basic inspection method and maintenance

Turn on the power, check the panel display value and the working status indicator is normal;

The instrument should be regularly sent to an external school. The verification period is one year.
