TI's new SimpleLink platform redefines product development with 100% code reuse in the industry's broadest portfolio of wired and wireless MCUs
Beijing, March 21, 2017 - Texas Instruments (TI) today announced the launch of its new SimpleLinkTM microcontroller (MCU) platform. By integrating a robust set of hardware, software and tools in a single development environment, the platform accelerates product expansion. Based on shared foundations such as drivers, frameworks, and databases, the new software development kit (SDK) for the SimpleLink MCU platform achieves scalability with 100% code reuse, reducing design time and allowing developers to replicate across different products. Use previous investments. With the choice of the industry's broadest range of ARM®-based 32-bit wired and wireless MCUs, Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial products can easily meet changing design or application needs.
New security-enhanced Wi-Fi® products join the SimpleLink MCU portfolioIn order to expand the range of devices in the SimpleLink MCU portfolio, TI has also officially launched a new generation of Wi-Fi chips and modules, namely the SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3220 wireless MCU and the CC3120 wireless network processor. The CC3220 Wireless MCU is based on a novel architecture development with two physically separate execution environments on a single chip. The CC3220 device includes rich embedded security features such as secure storage, clone protection, secure boot and network security, which provide developers with powerful tools to protect them without the need for external security MCUs or components. IoT devices avoid intellectual property (IP), data theft and other risks. In addition, like other SimpleLink products, these new devices still support Apple HomeKit technology. TI is committed to providing the industry's lowest power and easy to integrate Wi-Fi CERTIFIEDTM solution, and the CC3x20 family of devices enables designers to create products that can be put into production in six months, while being available in two AA batteries. The power supply has been running for several years. For more information, please visit.
SimpleLink MCU Platform OverviewThe SimpleLink platform delivers the highest security features, the broadest connectivity protocol support and advanced analog integration, while combining the industry's lowest power wireless MCUs. Based on leading-edge processing technology, innovative IP and practical systems expertise, the platform continues TI's more than 20 years of innovation in wireless connectivity and MCU. Combined with low power and interconnected ARM MCUs such as the MSP432TM, the platform provides:
Bluetooth® Low Power: CC2640R2F and CC2640R2F-Q1 Wireless MCU
· Dual band (Sub-1 GHz and Bluetooth low energy): CC1350 wireless MCU
· Host MCU: MSP432 MCU
· Sub-1 GHz: CC1310 Wireless MCU
· Wi-Fi: CC3220 wireless MCU, CC3120 wireless network processor
All of the above products, as well as future generations, are supported by a unified design, including:
TI Drivers and Industry Standard POSIX Application Programming Interface (API): With TI Drivers, the SimpleLink SDK reduces the barrier to entry. TI Drivers is an intuitive, standardized functional API. In addition, the API for Unix-compatible Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) supports 100% application code portability through countless OS/core programs.
· A unified tool chain: tools, training, and resources, including modular TI LaunchPadTM development kits, free cloud tools, and on-demand access to code samples, documentation, and training, all at any point in the design cycle through TIResource Explorer and SimpleLink Academy gets.
· Integrated Connectivity Stack: This portfolio offers a wide range of wired and wireless connectivity standards including Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, Sub-1 GHz and RS485, as well as upcoming zigbee®, Thread and Ethernet.
