Porcelain board painting
On April 20th, the Expo site began trial operation, indicating that the opening of the Expo is approaching. The Guangdong Pavilion, as an Expo venue that reflects the culture of South Guangdong, has always received much attention. It is understood that the Guangdong Pavilion's featured porcelain plate paintings are designed by Shenzhen Airo Lighting. To this end, the reporter visited Shenzhen Airo Lighting to unveil the mystery of its lighting design.
According to Xiao Jie, director of lighting sales at Airo, the porcelain plate painting is a bone china plate painting created by Yongfengyuan. The porcelain plate is 3 meters wide, 2.8 meters high and only 5 millimeters thick. The large area is made of ceramic underglaze carving technology, which is like a dreamy folk paper-cut and window flower art. For lighting design, there are several issues that need to be addressed:
First, the light transmission of materials
Bone china, as a special material, has a certain difficulty in lighting design. If the inner light transmission design is adopted, the thickness of the bone china is relatively small. However, due to its own characteristics, the bone china is not thick enough to be easily deformed. Obviously, this is not feasible. Therefore, after many discussions and researches by Yongfengyuan and Airo Lighting, the two sides unanimously decided to adopt the exquisite technology that only two manufacturers in the world can do on the bone china. This ensures that the light can be expressed through the internal transparency when the thickness of the bone china is constant, and it also reflects the characteristics of the bone china plate painting.
Second, the power of the lamp
Since the bone china plate painting has three layers, the first layer is glass, the second layer is glue, and the third layer is bone china plate painting. The light must penetrate the three layers of media. Therefore, it is necessary to use a single 1W high-power LED lamp to achieve the purpose of internal transmission.
Third, the angle of the lamp
The bone china plate painting combines many background elements such as the ancestral temple, dragon boat, Cantonese opera, lion dance, kapok tree, lychee tree, white magnolia, banana tree, pearl river and other Guangdong-style culture and folk activities, thus requiring different lights. To show, for example, the drum needs a little light, kapok needs a halo and so on. Thus, different elements need to be represented by different luminaire angles.
After the efforts of Airo Lighting, the above three technical problems were solved, and through the advantages of the LED lamps themselves, the bone china plate painting was finally like a paper-cut window flower, which was like a movie scene in which the people live and work in peace and contentment, forming a dynamic and static combination. The effect of the immersive shock and enjoyment has become a highlight of the Expo Guangdong Pavilion.
