BMW, Intel and Mobileye jointly announced at the CES show today that the three plans to launch driverless cars in the second half of this year for road test, the first batch of about 40.
It is reported that these test driverless cars are based on the BMW 7 Series and will be equipped with the latest related technologies of Intel and Mobileye. They will be tested in the US and Europe, and will be extended to more regions around the world.
Mobileye is a world-renowned auto parts supplier specializing in computer vision, maps, and machine learning. Tesla's Autopilot autopilot system uses their technology.
The three were announced in July last year to join forces to enter the driverless car, but will not officially go to the road until 2021.
