Ericsson announced the launch of environmental protection recycling services for telecommunications equipment in Taiwan

Ericsson (Ericsson) recently announced the launch of environmental protection recycling services for telecommunications equipment in Taiwan, using strict ecological management standards to carry out the removal, dismantling, classification and recycling of used telecommunications equipment products to help customers achieve the highest Environmental protection regulations. Ericsson plans to actively promote this mechanism to the Taiwanese telecommunications market, and this recycling service is not limited to Ericsson ’s current customers.

Since 2002, Ericsson has set up a recycling mechanism for customers ’obsolete telecommunications products based on ecological management standards. When customers have telecommunications equipment needs for recycling, Ericsson will arrange contractors to carry out base stations, switches, servers, batteries, feeders , Antenna, transmission line, optical fiber line, card board, iron frame and spare parts, etc.

The recycling manufacturers that Ericsson cooperates with must fully comply with the 80 regulations related to the recycling process, equipment transportation, post-processing, burying restrictions, and ethical responsibilities, and carry out product removal, dismantling, and classification, and finally material recycling and burying. At the same time, Ericsson will adopt strict ecological management standards and be responsible for the entire process to ensure that the recycled products meet the environmental protection requirements during the entire processing and disposal process. Customers will receive a destruction certificate and analysis report at the end.

Ulf Pehrsson, vice president of government and industrial relations at Ericsson, pointed out: "WEEE's requirement for equipment recycling or reuse is 75%, and the proportion of waste and landfill is less than 25%. Ericsson not only meets the EU WEEE directive standard, but also exceeds this standard The goal is to achieve a recycling rate of 90% for equipment recycling in 2008, and only 10% will be discarded and buried. At the same time, we will also strive to improve energy efficiency in the product recycling process, combining our overall carbon footprint and product life Periodic analysis minimizes the impact of Ericsson and its customers on the environment. "

Yue Hansen, General Manager of Ericsson Taiwan, said: "Taiwan Ericsson has started internally implementing environmental recycling of test equipment and used products. Over the past 12 months, more than 12 metric tons of telecommunications equipment have been recycled. Upholding this philosophy, therefore We promote this recycling mechanism to all customers in Taiwan and are not limited to Ericsson ’s existing customers. "
