Huawei’s success in the global market has been “big book†in the past few months. In the Chinese market, Huawei has become the number one smartphone manufacturer in excess of Xiaomi; in the global market, it has become the third largest smartphone manufacturer after Samsung and Apple. Huawei's success in the global market seems to be largely due to its performance in Europe.
Market research firm Kantar Worldpanel said in a report today that Huawei surpassed Sony, HTC and Motorola to become the second most popular Android device vendor in Europe's five largest markets. In the third quarter of this year, Huawei's ranking in major European markets rose from sixth place a year ago to second place, with equipment sales second only to Samsung. The top five European markets are the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
Carolina Milanesi, head of research at Kantar Worldpanel, said in the report, “Because of the emphasis on marketing and the weak brands such as Sony, HTC and Motorola, Huawei’s ranking in the European Android brand is The sixth place last year rose to the second place this year. Huawei has made progress in Spain and Italy as the product line covers all grades from low-end to high-end."
Regardless of the outside world, this is a huge improvement for Huawei. Until recently, Huawei was still "unknown" in Europe. At present, Huawei's smartphone sales exceed HTC, Sony, LG and Motorola.
