Open source camera with paper shell DIY

Craft Camera is an open source digital camera based on the Arduino Uno with several development modules.

Through this program, the threshold for the production of this device to everyone is greatly reduced, and anyone who is interested in it can try to toss it out.

Coralie Gourguechon is a photographer who owns the basic functions of a general digital camera from his own DIY Craft Camera, including taking pictures and storing it in an SD card. Coralie also chose a lithium battery module for this camera. Has a good endurance (according to the current development progress, only camera function, relatively speaking, relatively good battery life).

The overall housing structure of Craft Camera is entirely made of cardboard. Although this does not directly use 3D printing technology to make the outer shell of the product itself, the durability of the product itself is reduced. However, the difficulty in making the outer shell can simultaneously reduce the threshold of production and allow us to easily Make a replaceable shell.

Compared to 3D printing, this DIY technology with lower technological content can demonstrate DIYer's craftsmanship skills, and at the same time it represents a higher practical value in this design.

The production of the shell only requires simple cutting, folding and bonding. In the process we can use any convenient cutting and auxiliary folding tool, but we must choose a reliable adhesive glue.

Craft Camera is mainly based on the Arduino UNO, with an SD card storage module and a lithium battery module with intelligent monitoring voltage function, through a compact structure to form a stable and efficient data storage device.

The Craft Camera lens uses an open-source lens module from Sparkfun and supports VGA/QVGA/160×120 resolutions (ie, 640×480/320×240/160×120).
