Utility has announced that they are working with Sony to develop automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) using Sony's enhanced video recognition technology, which is an addition to the existing UtilityRocket IoT vehicle-mounted video system.
The system will intelligently identify the vehicle's structure, last known location and license plate label information, and collect data through the UtilityRocket IoT on-board system, which is a small part of the ALPR system.
Utility is a company that provides personnel communication and edge computing platforms for unique manufacturers. Bruce Tanaka, general manager of Sony's imaging products and solutions, said that this is Sony video recognition technology that has supported an outstanding experience through years of experience in video processing and imaging. In the competition, the two companies worked hard to provide breakthrough smart solutions, so our team worked together to further catalyze smart solutions.
Utility CEO Said Davis said that ALPR captures valuable information from vehicles, providing real-time communication and more scenarios. Therefore, although we are excited about the achievements we can achieve with technology itself, economics is equally convincing. Simply put, this may make every law enforcement vehicle on the road affordable for license plate recognition.
