Robotic overall market
Since 2013, China has become the world's largest robot market . According to relevant statistics, in 2013, the sales volume of industrial robots in China was about 36,000 units. According to Tan Lanqing, manager of the Industrial Robot Division of Epson (China) Co., Ltd., according to the comprehensive data of Epson and other companies and customs, the sales volume in 2014 was about 54,000 units.
Epson-defined robots, 36,000 units in 2013 are based on 4-axis and 6-axis industrial robots, but do not include single-axis. Because in a strict sense, a single-axis product is just an actuator. Therefore, compared with 2013, the market capacity increased by more than 60% in 2014. It is estimated that by 2015, Epson will measure sales volume to exceed 60,000 units, but it does not include some industry needs that may not be counted.
Figure 1 shows the statistics of the FNA Survey Department based on the IFR (International Robot Alliance). The estimated figures are lower and conservative than the former. For example, the sales volume in 2014 was 44,000 units. But in fact, we know that we have exceeded 54,000 units, and we can see that the growth rate of the robot market is very rapid. In 2015, it will definitely break through 60,000 units. It will be between 65,000 and 70,000 in 2016, so the 2016 data is relatively accurate, that is, the market's heat may cause some market demand to migrate.
Robot segment
There are four main types of robots (Figure 2). The first is a vertical multi-joint type, or a 6-axis industrial robot. Of course, some manufacturers have introduced a 7-axis robot, which is a system platform. In addition, the horizontal joint type (SCARA, Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) is developed for the assembly process, or a 4-axis industrial robot. There is also a parallel type (Delta type), which is currently the most widely used by domestic manufacturers. The reason may be that in 2012 and 2013, ABB, one of the earliest developers of parallel robots, opened the patent, so many manufacturers can copy it. The fourth category is orthogonal.
Robots with 4 axes and above are the focus of this article. According to the definition of Epson and other companies, there is also a kind of arm plus a rotating shaft. Many manufacturers robots have already been assembled when they leave the factory. We also define it as an industrial robot; if users buy 3 or 4 axes to fight together We just think of it as a support mechanism and don't define it as a robot.
In the vertical multi-joint/6-axis market, the four major families in the field of robot production (Swiss ABB, Japan FANUC, Japan Yaskawa Electric, Germany KUKA robot) are more famous, of course, there are several in the Chinese market recently. The momentum is very strong.
Frequency Inverters, also known as Variable Frequency Inverters or Variable Speed Drives, are electronic devices that are used to control the speed of an electric motor. They convert the incoming AC power into DC power and then back to AC power at the desired frequency and voltage. These devices are commonly used in industrial and commercial applications to regulate the speed of machines and equipment. Low Power Inverters, on the other hand, are designed for use in smaller applications such as home appliances and small machinery. They are typically less expensive and have a lower power output compared to their industrial counterparts. Overall, Frequency Inverters and Variable Frequency Inverters are essential components in modern industrial and commercial applications, while Low Power Inverters are more commonly used in smaller scale applications.
