Google launched the "Family Library" feature on Wednesday, allowing families to share apps, games, movies, TV shows and digital books they bought on Google Play.
Each Family Library can have up to 6 family members and does not require any registration fees. Google explained through blogs that all content purchased through Google Play can be shared with family members through this feature.
In contrast, users can only share movies, TV shows, and digital books they purchase through Apple's digital store.
In addition, this feature allows users to set specific content to share, and avoid sharing their favorite restricted content with a child.
Google wrote in the blog: "When you sign up, you can choose a credit card as a shared payment method for the whole family. But your family can switch to your own credit card or gift card at any time. For minors, you can also go one by one. Approve the content they purchased."
The new family library service will be available to users in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States in the coming days.
Google added that the $14.99 monthly Google Play Music family package is now available in Ireland, Italy, Mexico and New Zealand.
