Home appliances to the countryside: Gree's Haier accounted for 70% of the shares

A few days ago, the “Analysis Report on Home Appliances to the Countryside in the Air-Conditioning Industry 2011” was published. Gree, Midea, and Haier continued to lead the home appliances market to the countryside.

The report pointed out that according to the data management system for home appliances to the countryside, in 2011, sales of home appliances to the countryside air-conditioning products reached 10,646,800 units, achieving sales of 33.82 billion yuan, an increase of 72.7% and 83.78% respectively. Among them, the sales volume of inverter air conditioners increased from 10.24% in 2010 to 31.67%. Gree, Midea, and Haier’s three brands accounted for more than 70% of the rural air-conditioning market, and the oligopolistic structure was firm. In addition, among the top 10 best-selling air-conditioning products for home appliances to the countryside in 2011, Gree, Midea, and Haier have several products on the list. According to industry experts, the reason why the three major air-conditioning brands can take the lead in their home appliances to the countryside is mainly due to their extensive and flexible channel system, as well as their strong product technology innovation capabilities. At the same time, the withdrawal of home appliances to the countryside and other policies will make some air-conditioning companies with weaker capabilities lose their external support, and their subsequent development will be weak.
