Shan Zhiguang, deputy director of the Information Research Department of the National Information Center, revealed in Hangzhou on the 26th that the country is building an inter-departmental smart city coordination mechanism and supervision and evaluation mechanism to formulate a smart city's ability and effectiveness evaluation system to strengthen the guidance and supervision of smart cities. The effectiveness of the construction of smart cities around the country must be recognized by the state.
At present, China has successively released three batches of smart city pilots. Statistics show that at present, more than 500 cities in China have been piloting smart cities, and they have all introduced corresponding plans. The planned investment scale exceeds one trillion yuan. From the practical results, smart cities have achieved wide-ranging results in the fields of urban transportation, medical care, and government administration.
On June 26th, at the “2015 China Urban Development Forum†held in Hangzhou, Dan Zhiguang said that the National Information Center and other departments are formulating the capacity and effectiveness evaluation system and assessment system for smart cities in order to strengthen the guidance and supervision of smart cities. The construction of a smart city must be recognized by the state with practical results.
According to Shan Zhiguang, the National Development and Reform Commission has taken the lead in coordinating 25 ministries and commissions since October last year and established an inter-ministerial coordination working group to promote the healthy development of smart cities. The working group has started regular inter-ministerial meetings and expert meetings, emphasizing rational and pragmatic work. And research on the construction of smart cities and the integration of the “Belt and Roadâ€, the integration of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and strive to promote the standardization of smart city construction.
"At present, the Inter-Ministerial Coordination Working Group is building an inter-departmental smart city coordination mechanism and supervision and evaluation mechanism."
