Well-known LED giants jointly established the Zhaga Alliance to help LED lighting products become popular

Lighting giants such as OSRAM, Philips, Panasonic and Toshiba established the Zhaga Consortium in early 2010 to promote the standardization of LED lighting products. The alliance defines various optical engine interface standards, making it easier for manufacturers to purchase LED lighting components and lowering the threshold for entry into the industry.

The Zhaga Alliance will set specifications for LED lighting fixtures and lamp holders. In addition, the thermal interface associated with the heat dissipation path, the electrical interface for controlling Power Supply , grounding, and insulation requirements, and the optical interface associated with radiation, such as light beams and colors, All are within the scope of standardization. However, lighting performance varies according to regions and countries, and standards are not set for conditions such as life and quality.

Zhaga Alliance member Guanglei Technology said that the LED lighting industry competitors, the promotion of standardization will contribute to the improvement of the overall technical level, and is also the key to the future popularization of LED lighting products. However, the company also pointed out that the standardization of the norm is dominated by the big manufacturers, which is bound to have an impact on some of the smaller manufacturers in the industry and slower technology development.
