Power Integrations, a leading provider of high-voltage analog ICs for power conversion, today introduced an ultra-small power supply reference design tool (RDK-131) to help designers develop high-performance LED alternatives to replace high-power Incandescent lamps. This set of tools assists designers in developing power circuits that comply with led bulb sockets, while ensuring that these LED Bulbs used to replace incandescent lamps pass electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements such as electromagnetic noise radiation and tolerance.
Unlike incandescent sources that can be powered directly from the mains, each LED bulb must be powered by an Edison (E27) or Bayonet (GU10) outlet.
