In the first step, check if the low voltage circuit is faulty. The specific method is: when the ignition switch is turned on, use the multimeter DC 25V file to measure the ignition coil "+" column voltage and the ignition electronic component pin 4 voltage, the normal value is 12V; then unplug the signal harness on the distributor, Use a multimeter positive and negative meter bar to connect two connectors at both ends, where the voltage normal value is 10.5V; then measure the voltage between the 5th and 2nd feet of the ignition electronic component, the normal value is 10.5V, if no This voltage value indicates that the ignition electronics may be faulty.
In step 2, check if the ignition coil and the central high voltage line are normal. The specific method is: first measure the primary winding resistance of the ignition coil with a multimeter 10Ω file, and its normal value is 0.6-0.7Ω; then measure the secondary winding resistance of the ignition coil with a multimeter 10kΩ file, the normal value is 2.5-3.5kΩ; then measure the center The resistance of the high voltage line has a normal value of 0-2.8 kΩ. If there is no such normal resistance value, there may be a fault inside the device under test, so be careful to repair it as appropriate.
Step 3, if the above measurements are normal, indicating that the inside of the device and the power supply line are normal, the device can be installed as it is and then the ignition electronic components are checked. At this point, first turn off the ignition switch, use the multimeter (dial to DC 25V) to connect the ignition coil "+" to the column, the negative indicator to the ignition coil "-" to the column, and then unplug the signal harness on the distributor , then turn on the ignition switch, then pay close attention to the multimeter pointer change. Normally, the multimeter pointer first indicates that the voltage is about 10.5V, and then quickly falls back to zero. When the ignition switch is turned on, the signal harness on the distributor can be unplugged, and a wire is connected to the middle joint. The wire is quickly grounded and released immediately to give an ignition signal to the ignition electronic component. At this time, the multimeter pointer should also have the above reaction. If there is the above reaction, it is proved that the ignition electronic component is not faulty. At this time, if the car still does not start, the fault is at the ignition signal generator. When the ignition signal generator and ignition electronics are faulty, they can only be replaced without repair.
When checking the ignition electronic components and the ignition signal generator, it is also possible to use a multi-meter measurement without using a multimeter to measure the fire by inserting a central high-voltage line into a spark plug. If the flashing light is turned on immediately when the ignition switch is turned on or the ignition switch is turned on, the signal line can be quickly grounded and the flashover can be seen immediately, indicating that the ignition electronic component and the ignition signal generator are normal. Otherwise the ignition electronics or the ignition signal generator is faulty.
