Zimbabwe government led the replacement of street lights for LED lights

Zimbabwe in Africa has also begun to adopt LED street lights. Cllr Amen Mpofu, deputy mayor of King City, announced that it was officially led by the official to replace the main street lights with LED lighting.

A report by the Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust in Zimbabwe shows that if the country converts all LED street lights, it will save $1.8 million a year. LED street lights can reduce electricity consumption by 88%, reduce the cost of repairing faults, and reduce energy disasters caused by the environment.

It is reported that this new lighting system was funded by ZDDT and assisted by urban engineers and built by Alternative Energy Consultants.
